The TRC library offers a rich resource pool of print and non-print materials for its members, its staff, and all those who really want to understand educational themes and issues, and are willing to invest the time and energy to learn more through independent research and study. We have an open-door policy for non-member teachers, students and parents who are welcome to use our comfortable, user-friendly facility for their reading and research.
Visitors to the library can read and borrow from our wide range of professional literature; learn from some of the latest international magazines and journals on infant education and educational leadership; research the Internet on a computer set up explicitly for this purpose, and view classroom activities and lesson plans downloaded and adapted by our staff to meet the needs of schools in the Pakistani context. In our resource room, visitors can view a variety of videos, including a set of High/Scope videos on setting up and managing active learning ECE classrooms. Group viewings and discussions are also arranged on request.
We have recently purchased ‘Delicious Library’ to catalogue our collection. This truly ‘delicious’ software enables us to find and use items, like never before. If you are in Karachi, come and check it out! This user-friendly software looks just like a library shelf and you can see the covers of all the books. Our librarian, Shahida Parween, is thoroughly enjoying cataloguing our books and can keep track of borrowed items with the greatest of ease.
